Translational Neuroscience Laboratory
(ANRF Regional Facility)
K² Lab is a translational neuroscience research group within the Department of Neurology at the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), dedicated to understanding the complex interplay between the brain, the immune system, and neurological disease. Our work focuses on uncovering mechanisms that bridge fundamental biology with clinical relevance, with the goal of advancing meaningful interventions for brain disorders.
Founded by Dr. Kaushik P. Sharma and Dr. Kanchan Bisht, whose research training and experience span world-class institutions across India, Canada, the United States, Switzerland, and Japan, the lab integrates diverse expertise in neuroimmunology, experimental neuroscience, and disease modeling. Beyond generating scientific knowledge, we are deeply committed to building research capacity, mentoring young scientists, and fostering a culture of rigorous, ethical, and impactful inquiry.
At K² Lab, we believe that neuroscience must move beyond isolated discovery toward integrated understanding, and connecting laboratory research with clinical insight and societal need. Our vision is to contribute to a future in which advances in brain science translate into tangible improvements in human health and well-being.
